Complimentary Seats for Your Agency

As a benefit of hosting High Performance Leadership, host organizations will receive complimentary seats for members of their agency. The number of complimentary registrations is determined in advance and may vary based on the hosting arrangement, anticipated enrollment, venue size, program expenses, and the level of support provided by the host organization. We work hard so that our host agencies are thrilled with the agreement.

Complimentary host seats can make it possible for agencies to provide meaningful leadership development to several employees at little or no training cost while helping bring high-quality law enforcement leadership training to their region. All details regarding complimentary registrations are discussed and confirmed during the planning process.

Who Can Host Leadership Training?

High Performance Leadership can be hosted by a wide range of law enforcement and public safety organizations. Potential hosts include municipal police departments, county sheriff’s offices, law enforcement academies, regional training centers, professional associations, colleges, and other organizations that provide training to public safety professionals. We have worked with sprawling sheriffs offices like the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia to municipal police departments like the Wesborough Police Department in Massachusetts. We have even worked with large metropolitan agencies like the St. Louis County Police Department in Missouri and academies throughout the country.

It’s not just law enforcement either. We’ve presented at events and conferences in health care, finance, human resources, government and more.

Hosting arrangements can be tailored to the needs of the organization. Some agencies choose to host a regional open-enrollment class that allows personnel from surrounding departments to attend, while others may prefer an agency-specific program focused primarily on their own employees. Leading Blue works with each host to determine the most appropriate format.

What the Host Agency Provides

The host organization typically provides a suitable classroom or training facility, basic audiovisual equipment, and a local point of contact who can assist with coordination. Depending on the arrangement, the host may also help promote the program to neighboring agencies, assist with participant check-in, or provide information about local facility requirements.

Specific responsibilities are discussed before the event is scheduled so both Leading Blue and the host organization have a clear understanding of the training setup. The goal is to keep the hosting process straightforward and manageable while creating a professional learning environment for all participants.

What Leading Blue Provides

Leading Blue provides the High Performance Leadership program, course instruction, presentation materials, participant resources, and coordination support throughout the planning process. We also work with the host organization to develop promotional information, registration details, and other materials needed to make the program successful.

Our goal is to make hosting as simple as possible. Leading Blue will communicate with the host regarding scheduling, classroom needs, attendance expectations, promotional support, and other logistical details so the organization knows exactly what to expect before the training date.

About the Presenter

A law enforcement veteran of more than three decades, Andrew A. DeMuth Jr. developed an interest and passion for leadership early on in his career. Having worked for four different law enforcement agencies, he had a front-row view to a variety of different leaders and leadership styles. Twenty-three of those years were in leadership roles.

Most recently, Andrew managed a unit that oversaw the statewide DNA collection program by more than 500 law enforcement agencies throughout the state and ensured that collections were compliant with state and federal regulations. In that role, he also managed a 21-county training program that trained several times each month throughout the state. Separately, Andrew also taught High-Performance Leadership, a class he built specifically for law enforcement, at police academies throughout the state.

Prior to accepting this position, Andrew spent 25 years with the Freehold Borough Police Department. During his career, he spent 17 of those years managing patrol squads and later the investigations division. Andrew also served as the agency training officer, range master, press information officer, youth police academy director, and intelligence officer. Andrew spent two years serving part time on the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) statewide Violent Gang Task Force as well as one year full time undercover with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force.

A long-time law enforcement trainer, Andrew possesses certifications and/or approvals from the New Jersey Police Training Commission and the Attorney General’s Advocacy Institute to train police recruits, veteran police officers, and licensed attorneys seeking annual continuing legal education (CLE) credits.

Andrew also serves on the Leadership Development Advisory Council for the Seton Hall University School Stillman School of Business and is an adjunct professor for Southern New Hampshire University and Middlesex College teaching Leadership in a Law Enforcement Organization along with other criminal justice and associated classes. He has authored articles on leadership and professional development for the FBI Bulletin, PoliceOne.com, the ILEETA Journal, and others. Andrew has spoken nationally on leadership and professional development at conferences including ILEETA and IACLEA.

Andrew is a graduate of the NJSACOP Command and Leadership Academy as well as the basic and advanced Penn State Police Executive Development programs and has a master’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Administrative Science. Andrew was the recipient of the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice 2019 Excellence in Leadership Director’s Award, as well as the Medal of Valor from the New Jersey State PBA, the Merit Award from the 200 Club, the Combat Cross from the Freehold Borough Police Department, and numerous other awards throughout his career.
